MiniSEED seismic data files from the Copper Basin Exploration Science project, with one file per station channel per day. The dataset includes passive seismic recordings from Guralp, ESPCD, and 6T seismometers at 1Hz and 100Hz frequencies. Collected from May 2022 to December 2024 across Zambia, it aims to determine the region's large-scale crustal structure for geodynamic interpretation of copper deposits.
Use Cases
- Modeling crustal structure based on passive seismic recordings across Zambia.
- Interpreting copper deposit formation in a geodynamic context using broadband seismic data.
- Calibrating seismic instruments using the comprehensive metadata file with full calibration information.
Strengths
- Includes comprehensive metadata with latitude, longitude, start/end dates, and full calibration for each instrument.
- Data spans a multi-year period from May 1, 2022, to December 21, 2024.
- Records from multiple seismometer types (Guralp, ESPCD, 6T) at two sampling frequencies (1Hz and 100Hz).
Limitations
- Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
- Row count is unknown, which may limit suitability assessment.
