Since 2019, the NOAA National Coral Reef Monitoring Program has collected structural complexity metrics for coral reefs across the U.S. Pacific regions. The data are derived from Structure-from-Motion photogrammetry of diver-collected imagery, processed into digital elevation models. Metrics include rugosity, fractal dimension, and height range, calculated from stratified-random survey sites.
The source imagery is archived separately; complexity metrics are derived from processed DEMs.
