Description
NASA HEASARC provides a catalog of 692 active galactic nuclei (AGN) and their host galaxies from the COSMOS field, with redshifts between 0.1 and 4. The table, created in July 2017, summarizes multi-wavelength properties derived from X-ray and far-infrared data, including AGN luminosity, host galaxy stellar mass, and star formation rates. This data was used to investigate correlations between supermassive black hole growth and galaxy build-up.
Use Cases
Modeling the correlation between AGN X-ray luminosity and host galaxy star formation luminosity based on the reported logarithmic slope.
Investigating the relationship between AGN obscuration (column density) and host galaxy stellar mass as described in the findings.
Comparing observed AGN and host galaxy property distributions with predictions from hydrodynamical simulations, as referenced in the paper.
Analyzing the variability time scales between black hole accretion and star formation rates suggested by the correlation results.
Strengths
Contains 692 sources, providing a substantial sample for statistical analysis.
Covers a broad redshift range from 0.1 to 4, allowing for evolutionary studies.
Integrates multi-wavelength data from X-ray to far-infrared for each source.
Limitations
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
Row count is known, but specific file formats and data access details are unknown.
