Description
1,962 FullHD videos with YUV420 encoding and durations of 10-15 seconds form the open part of the MSU compression artifacts dataset. The dataset, developed by deepfakesMSU, includes videos at frame rates of 24, 25, 30, 39, 50, and 60 fps for evaluating video quality metrics. The full description is available on the dataset page, and the dataset was last updated on April 14, 2026.
Use Cases
Benchmarking video compression algorithms based on subjective quality scores
Training no-reference quality assessment models based on compression artifacts
Evaluating full-reference quality metrics against a standardized video set
Studying the perceptual impact of different frame rates (24-60 fps) on quality
Strengths
1,962 videos provide a substantial open subset for public evaluation
All videos are of mostly FullHD resolution, ensuring a consistent high-quality source
Videos cover six specific frame rates (24, 25, 30, 39, 50, 60 fps), allowing for frame-rate-specific analysis
Limitations
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download
The open set represents only 1,962 out of 6,240 total videos, limiting the full scope available for public use
Row count is unknown, which may limit suitability assessment
Provenance
Source
deepfakesMSU
Collection Method
Developed for evaluating video quality metrics; likely contains subjectively scored compression artifacts.
