NASA's CYGNSS constellation, launched on 15 December 2016, provides frequent space-based measurements of ocean surface heat flux. The dataset offers parameters with 25x25 kilometer footprint resolution, derived from satellite wind speeds and ERA5 reanalysis data using the COARE 3.5 algorithm. It is available from 1 August 2018 to present with approximately one week latency.
Data files are in netCDF-4 format; each file contains data within a 24-hour UTC period from a combination of up to 8 unique spacecraft.
