Description
240 pointlike X-ray sources were detected within a 50 ks Chandra observation of the unidentified TeV gamma-ray source region TeV J2032+4130 in Cygnus. The catalog, created by NASA HEASARC in 2007, includes 2MASS near-infrared counterparts for 130 (54%) of these sources. The observation was centered on J2000.0 coordinates (RA, Dec) = (20 32 07.0, +41 30 30) and conducted on 2004 July 12.
Use Cases
Cross-matching X-ray and near-infrared sources based on the 2MASS counterpart data.
Analyzing the spatial distribution of pointlike X-ray sources within the TeV J2032+4130 region.
Identifying potential stellar counterparts for high-energy gamma-ray sources based on the catalog of massive stars.
Studying the relationship between X-ray point sources and extended TeV gamma-ray emission regions.
Strengths
Contains 240 detected pointlike X-ray sources.
Includes 2MASS near-infrared counterpart data for 130 sources (54%).
Observation has a defined effective exposure time of 48,728 seconds.
Provides precise J2000.0 coordinates for the observation center.
Limitations
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
Row count is unknown, which may limit suitability assessment.
Data may reflect observational bias inherent to the specific Chandra observation and source region.
