Red Kite Winter Space Use and Protected Area Overlap in Europe, 2013-2022

Between 2013 and 2022, GPS-GSM telemetry data from 103 Red Kite individuals tracked over 180 winter periods was used to create kernel density estimates for core areas and home ranges. The dataset quantifies spatial overlap between these utilization distributions and Natura 2000 protected areas and Important Bird and Biodiversity Areas (IBAs). It was authored by Connor Panter and includes associated environmental and demographic variables for modeling.
