Yu Ren's study screened 10 plant extracts for antibacterial activity against a calf diarrhea-causing Escherichia coli strain. Epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG) showed the largest inhibition zone (19.7 ± 0.3 mm) and was tested in vivo on mice infected with E. coli. The research was uploaded to figshare on 2026-04-09.
