Description
A full-length transcriptome atlas for apple (Malus domestica) integrates Oxford Nanopore long-read and Illumina short-read sequencing across seven tissues. It contains 56,809 genes, 100,911 transcript isoforms, and 29,842 alternative splicing events. The dataset was created by Chenyang Hu and last updated in May 2026.
Use Cases
Identify tissue-specific genes and transcript isoforms based on expression across seven apple tissues.
Analyze differential alternative splicing patterns between tissue pairs using percent spliced in (PSI) metrics.
Study post-transcriptional regulation in apple using the atlas of 29,842 splicing events.
Improve genome annotation for apple using the unified transcript annotation resource.
Strengths
Integrates long-read and short-read sequencing data, which likely improves transcriptome resolution.
Quantifies gene- and transcript-level expression across seven distinct apple tissues.
Provides a specific count of 29,842 alternative splicing events across seven event types.
Limitations
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
Row count is unknown, which may limit suitability assessment.
Description metadata is limited; actual data quality requires manual inspection after download.
