Description
Björn Bruhin's study evaluates the inter- and intra-rater reliability of video analysis for injury-related events in winter sports. Four raters reviewed 644 situations from snowboard cross and ski cross footage, classifying them into categories like Crash and Time of no return. Reliability was assessed using Fleiss’ Kappa, Cronbach’s Alpha, and Cohen’s Kappa, with results published on figshare in April 2026.
Use Cases
Benchmarking video analysis reliability metrics based on Fleiss’ Kappa and Cronbach’s Alpha scores
Training classifiers for event detection in sports footage based on categories like Crash and Time of no return
Developing standardized annotation protocols for sports injury research based on the study's methodology
Comparing rater agreement for nuanced categories like Out of balance and Contact mentioned in the results
Strengths
Includes 644 reviewed situations, providing a substantial sample for reliability analysis
