Surfacing a geospatial techno-economic assessment of offshore wind and hybrid wind-hydrogen systems across the Mediterranean basin. It compares configurations where 10%–90% of wind farm capacity is allocated to on-site hydrogen production against a grid-only baseline, using metrics like levelised cost of energy (LCOE) and hydrogen (LCOH). The analysis, authored by Viola De Clerck, finds optimal grid-connected LCOE at 48.4 €/MWh and hybrid LCOH at 81.4 €/MWh, with payback times as low as 11 years under favorable conditions.
