Description
Artocarpus nanchuanensis, a critically endangered tree endemic to Chongqing, China. This dataset integrates widely targeted metabolomics and transcriptomics analyses of fruit at three developmental stages (green mature, color-breaking, complete ripeness), identifying 1,662 metabolites and associated gene expression. It was authored by Shumin Wang and last updated on April 13, 2026.
Use Cases
Identify optimal harvest times for industrial flavonoid extraction based on metabolite concentration peaks at the color-breaking stage.
Model regulatory networks for nutritional components like saccharides and vitamins based on the constructed metabolic pathways.
Investigate the role of specific transcription factors (MYB, ERF, WRKY) in regulating flavonoid and alkaloid synthesis.
Analyze changes in Vitamin C content (from 570.06 μg/g to 542.16 μg/g) and other metabolites across fruit ripening.
Discover novel compounds like Anthriscifolcine A, a diterpene alkaloid not previously reported in Moraceae plants.
Strengths
Integrates two omics layers (transcriptomics and metabolomics) for a multi-faceted view of fruit development.
Quantifies 1,662 identified metabolites, with flavonoids (18.65%) and alkaloids (7.89%) as major classes.
Provides specific metabolite concentrations, such as Vitamin C content measured at 570.06 μg/g in green mature fruit.
Identifies 264 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) enriched in the plant hormone transduction pathway.
Limitations
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
Row count is unknown, which may limit suitability assessment.
The primary data file is a DOCX format (2.5 MB), which may require extraction or conversion for computational analysis.
