A dataset quantifying the proportions of neurons, glia, and vascular cells across cortical layers in the mouse primary somatosensory cortex and human temporal cortex. Over 25,000 cells in the mouse and 13,000 cells in the human cortex were individually identified and classified using immunocytochemistry and a direct 3D counting method with EspINA software. The data was authored by Sergio Plaza-Alonso and last updated on 2026-04-23.
