Description
Eliza Russu published a retrospective observational study on figshare in 2026. The dataset includes 125 patients who underwent open surgical repair for abdominal aortic aneurysm. It quantifies preoperative nutritional status using albumin, total protein, Prognostic Nutritional Index, and CONUT Score, and analyzes associations with rupture, acute kidney injury, and 30-day mortality.
Use Cases
Predicting aneurysm rupture at presentation based on preoperative albumin and total protein levels.
Modeling 30-day postoperative mortality risk using Prognostic Nutritional Index (PNI) scores.
Analyzing the association between CONUT Score and postoperative acute kidney injury (AKI).
Developing risk stratification models for open abdominal aortic aneurysm repair using multivariate clinical and nutritional data.
Strengths
Includes 125 patient records with detailed demographic and comorbidity data.
Quantifies nutritional status using four established clinical biomarkers (albumin, total protein, PNI, CONUT).
Primary outcomes (AKI, 30-day mortality) and rupture status are explicitly defined and analyzed.
Limitations
Row count is unknown, which may limit suitability assessment.
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
Data is from a single-center retrospective study, which may limit generalizability.
