339 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus were included in this cross-sectional study exploring the association between plasma apolipoprotein M (apoM) levels and diabetic retinopathy. The data, authored by Jin Ook Chung and last updated in April 2026, shows patients with diabetic retinopathy had significantly higher median plasma apoM levels (26.05 mg/L) than those without (21.47 mg/L). Logistic regression indicated a significant positive association between apoM levels and diabetic retinopathy after adjusting for confounders like age and HbA1c.
