Description
28 days of gene expression data from laser-microdissected mouse dentate gyrus tissue after perforant path transection. The dataset contains whole-genome expression analysis results from the outer molecular layer and granule cell layer at 1, 3, 7, 14, and 28 days post-lesion. It was created by Jessica Schlaudraff and is licensed under CC-BY-4.0.
Use Cases
Model temporal patterns of reactive gliosis based on the description of astrogliosis and microgliosis.
Analyze coordinated downregulation of neurotransmission factors mentioned, such as glutamatergic signaling components.
Study compensatory synaptic remodeling based on described upregulation of postsynaptic and dendritic membrane regulators.
Investigate layer-specific responses (OML vs. GCL) to denervation as highlighted in the results.
Strengths
Provides specific temporal measurements at 1, 3, 7, 14, and 28 days post-lesion.
Includes layer-specific data from laser-microdissected outer molecular layer and granule cell layer.
Contains quantified changes for specific genes, such as Sema3e reduced to 60% in OML.
Limitations
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
Row count is unknown, which may limit suitability assessment.
Dataset size is 102.8 KB, indicating a limited scope.
