A global collection of 1,243 Streptococcus dysgalactiae genomes from human and animal origins in Norway, Japan, Canada, and Australia was screened for alp genes. The research, authored by Camilla Olaisen and last updated in April 2026, identified five novel alp genes and found alp prevalence in 18% of human and 10-15% of animal strains.
