Description
Finnish genome-wide association study summary statistics from up to 500,000 participants, analyzing the shared genetic basis of dental caries, periodontitis, pulpitis, and temporomandibular disorders. The dataset, authored by Xiyao Ma and last updated in May 2026, contains results from multivariate GWAS and fine-mapping identifying 104 genome-wide significant SNPs aggregated into 96 loci.
Use Cases
Identify pleiotropic genetic loci based on multivariate GWAS summary statistics for a latent common oral genetic factor.
Perform gene and pathway enrichment analysis based on identified high-confidence causal variants.
Investigate tissue-specific genetic effects based on spatial mapping to embryonic tooth-germ atlases.
Compare novel genetic findings against single-trait GWAS results for oral diseases.
Strengths
Analysis includes up to 500,000 Finnish participants, providing substantial statistical power.
Multivariate GWAS identified 104 genome-wide significant SNPs aggregated into 96 independent loci, largely novel compared to single-trait analyses.
Fine-mapping refined results to 53 high-confidence causal variants with enriched pathways identified.
Limitations
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
Row count is unknown, which may limit suitability assessment.
Data is derived from a Finnish population, which may limit generalizability to other ancestries.
