Description
34 young adults (17 healthy controls, 17 with clinician-confirmed anxiety) aged 21–27 years participated in a study measuring plasma cytokines and targeted lipid profiles. The dataset includes quantified levels of cytokines like IL-6, MCP-1, TNF-α, and IL-17A, and lipid species including ceramides, dihydroceramides, and glycerolipids. The data was published by Sofía Bernal-Vega on figshare in March 2026 under a CC-BY-4.0 license.
Use Cases
Correlating plasma cytokine levels with anxiety severity based on standardized clinical instruments.
Examining associations between specific lipid species and pro-inflammatory markers mentioned in the description.
Building regression models to explore combined lipid-cytokine predictors for anxiety.
Replicating group comparisons between individuals with anxiety and healthy controls for cytokines like IL-6 and TNF-α.
Strengths
Includes data from 34 participants with clinician-confirmed diagnoses.
