Description
Myocarditis burden data provides global, regional, and national estimates for individuals aged 15–39 years from 1990 to 2021. Metrics include incident cases, mortality, and disability-adjusted life years (DALYs), stratified by age, sex, and Sociodemographic Index (SDI). The analysis forecasts trends through 2050.
Use Cases
Analyze Sociodemographic Index (SDI) stratification to identify regional disparities in myocarditis incidence and mortality rates.
Model temporal trends of incident cases and DALYs by age group and sex using annual percentage change (APC) estimates.
Forecast future burden through 2050 based on historical trends in incidence, mortality, and DALYs data.
Assess country-level variations, such as India's high incident case count, against global and regional estimates.
Strengths
Data spans 32 years (1990–2021) with forecasts to 2050, providing long-term trend analysis.
Includes 95% uncertainty intervals for key metrics like the 349,033.33 global incident cases in 2021.
Stratified by five dimensions: region, country, age, sex, and Sociodemographic Index (SDI).
Limitations
Estimates are modeled from the Global Burden of Disease study, not direct primary case records.
