Description
15 municipalities in the Dordogne basin of Corrèze, France, are covered by this dataset, which contains the regulatory zoning envelopes for flood prevention plans (PPRi). The Bureau de Recherches Géologiques et Minières (BRGM) provides the data, which was last updated on January 14, 2022. The PPRi plans, approved on October 30, 2013, classify land into red (non-constructible), dark blue (constructible under conditions for economic activities), and blue (constructible under conditions) zones based on flood hazard modeling.
Use Cases
Mapping flood hazard zones based on the modeled reference floods for rivers like the Dordogne and Maronne.
Analyzing land-use restrictions for construction and economic activities within the defined red, dark blue, and blue regulatory zones.
Studying the application of French Environmental Code (Article L. 562-1) for natural risk prevention across 15 specific municipalities.
Strengths
Covers a specific geographic area of 15 municipalities in the Corrèze department.
Based on defined flood hazard models using historical (1960) and calculated centennial flood events.
Includes a clear regulatory framework with three distinct land classification zones (red, dark blue, blue).
Limitations
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
Row count and file size are unknown, which may limit suitability assessment.
