Description
Hazard zones representing areas exposed to one or more flood hazards, as defined by the natural flood risk prevention plan (PPRi) for the sector between Decise and the southern boundary of the Nièvre department. The dataset, produced by the Bureau de Recherches Géologiques et Minières (BRGM), is based on hazard maps resulting from studies that assess the intensity and probability of dangerous phenomena. It was last updated on May 4, 2021.
Use Cases
Assess flood risk for land development based on hazard zone classifications.
Model potential flood damage and plan protective infrastructure based on hazard intensity and probability.
Delineate areas requiring specific building regulations or insurance considerations based on multi-hazard exposure.
Strengths
Data is derived from a synthesis of multiple sources of calculated, modelled, or observed hazard data.
Hazard zones are graduated according to the level of hazard, incorporating both probability and intensity.
Areas protected by structures are included, accounting for potential failure scenarios.
Limitations
Description metadata is limited; actual data quality requires manual inspection after download.
Last updated 2021-05-04 00:00:00; freshness should be verified.
