Description
Datasets for JGR_2026 is a collection of observational data used for validating oceanographic models. The dataset, authored by Jongwi Chang and shared under a CC-BY-4.0 license, includes measurements for tide, current, significant wave height, and suspended sediment concentration from 2012 and 2023. It is a 167.8 MB archive last updated in May 2026.
Use Cases
Validate tide model predictions based on 'Pres' and 'depth.dat' variables.
Validate current model predictions based on 'u_raw', 'v_raw', 'avgU.dat', and 'avgV.dat' variables.
Validate significant wave height model predictions based on buoy data.
Validate suspended sediment concentration (SSC) model predictions based on SSC output files.
Strengths
Contains multi-year validation data from 2012 and 2023, allowing for temporal comparisons.
