Browse Basin Petroleum Systems Analysis with Supersequence Interpretations

Geoscience Australia conducted a multi-disciplinary study integrating updated biostratigraphy, well correlations, seismic data, and paleogeographic interpretations for ten Hettangian to Maastrichtian supersequences. The analysis identified four geochemically distinct petroleum systems influenced by Jurassic–Cretaceous source pods and regional basin architecture. Results highlight shallow liquid-prone plays in the southern Caswell Sub-basin and on the basin margins.
