Description
Rhamnidium elaeocarpum seeds from Jaupaci, Brazil, were dried from 37% to 12% water content to study desiccation tolerance. Physiological parameters like germination speed and respiration rate were measured alongside biochemical analyses of enzymes and heat-resistant proteins. The study found that catalase activity, not peroxidase, was more associated with drying tolerance in seeds with 12% water content.
