A study comparing cold vapour atomic fluorescence spectrometry (CV-AFS) and inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) for determining mercury in hepatic tissue from marine tetrapods. Detection limits were 0.02 mg kg-1 for ICP-MS and 0.01 mg kg-1 for CV-AFS, with accuracy assessed using TORT-3 certified reference material. The research, authored by Raiza F. da Silva, found significant mercury loss during lyophilization.
