In China, no publicly reported engineering applications of virtual thrust sensing for aero-engines have been achieved to date. This document is a review paper analyzing the development demands, research progress, and key challenges for deploying this technology, including robustness to sensor noise and engine-to-engine variability. It proposes a technical route integrating mechanism–data collaborative design and dissimilar redundancy for future implementation.
