Predicted Vegetation Atlas for St. Lawrence Islands National Park

A 10-meter resolution raster atlas predicts distributions of dominant forest plants, vegetation assemblages, and habitat characteristics for the eco-district 6e10 and Greater Park Ecosystem. The atlas was created by the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources using statistical modeling on field data collected from 2005 to 2007. It provides baseline vegetation information for natural resource management and conservation planning in southern Ontario.

Use Cases

• Model wildlife habitat suitability using predicted species distributions and habitat characteristic layers.
• Support Species at Risk (SAR) recovery planning by analyzing predicted vegetation types and species assemblages.
