From 1996 to 1998, discrete profile measurements of dissolved inorganic carbon, alkalinity, pCO2, and other hydrographic variables were collected in the Indian Ocean during the R/V Nathaniel B. Palmer cruise WOCE_S04I. The data were collected by researchers from Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory and the Rosenstiel School as part of the World Ocean Circulation Experiment (WOCE). The final WOCE collection covers approximately 23,000 stations from 94 cruises conducted between 1990 and 1998.
