From May 12 to June 17, 2014, discrete seawater samples and profiles were collected during the R/V Keifu Maru II cruise ks201404 in the North Pacific Ocean. The dataset includes measurements of dissolved inorganic carbon, total alkalinity, pH, temperature, salinity, oxygen, and nutrients. It was contributed by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
Use Cases
- Modeling ocean carbon uptake based on dissolved inorganic carbon and total alkalinity measurements.
- Studying ocean acidification trends based on pH on the total scale.
- Analyzing relationships between physical and biogeochemical ocean properties based on temperature, salinity, oxygen, and nutrient data.
Strengths
- Specific temporal coverage from 2014-05-12 to 2014-06-17.
- Includes multiple co-located seawater chemistry and physical parameters.
Limitations
- Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
- Row count is unknown, which may limit suitability assessment.
