NOAA's second Gulf of Mexico and East Coast Carbon (GOMECC-2) cruise collected a snapshot of key carbon, physical, and biogeochemical parameters related to ocean acidification. The effort supported the NOAA Ocean Acidification Program's coastal monitoring objectives, involving 8 transects orthogonal to the Gulf and Atlantic coasts. Measurements were taken aboard the NOAA Ship Ronald H. Brown, which departed from Miami and transited to Boston.
