Bonney Coast Upwelling Daily Sea Surface Temperature Composites from Himawari-8

Himawari-8 satellite data provides hourly images to create daily sea surface temperature composites, overcoming cloud contamination issues from older satellites. This study maps the seasonal Bonney Coast Upwelling on a daily basis from November 2016 to March 2017 using a topographical position index method. Presented at the 2017 Australian Marine Sciences Association Conference, the data enables the first quantitative investigation of the upwelling's spatial and temporal development.
