Bonney Coast Upwelling Daily Sea Surface Temperature Composites from Himawari-8

Himawari-8 satellite data provides hourly images to overcome cloud contamination, a limitation of previous twice-daily MODIS and AVHRR passes. This study generates daily sea surface temperature composites for the Bonney Coast region from November 2016 to March 2017, mapping upwelling signatures with a topographical position index method. The Australian Ocean Data Network presented this work at the 2017 Australian Marine Sciences Association Conference.
