Description
Field data from Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda, examines the effect of prenatal food provisioning on female banded mongooses and their offspring. The study experimentally manipulated the condition of pregnant females between 2013 and 2016 to measure impacts on weight change, cooperative care allocation, and pup survival.
Use Cases
Analyze the correlation between prenatal provisioning and female weight change during pregnancy and the escorting period.
Model pup survival outcomes based on pup weight at birth and weight change during the escorting period.
Investigate the allocation of cooperative escorting care in relation to prenatal condition and pup weight inequalities.
Strengths
Data collected from a multi-year field study spanning 2013 to 2016.
Includes experimentally manipulated conditions with provisioned and control groups for causal analysis.
