A study by Tamara Halter of the University of Vienna investigates the Rhabdochlamydiaceae family of bacteria. The research identified at least 388 genus-level lineages and about 14,051 putative species using 16S rRNA data, and includes a comparative genome analysis of two sequenced species. This work provides insights into the molecular ecology and evolution of these chlamydial symbionts.
