Description
Time series observations of surface-atmosphere exchanges of carbon dioxide, sensible heat, latent heat, and momentum at two managed lowland peatland sites in East Anglia, UK. Data collection occurred from November 2016 to September 2018 for a cropland site and from April 2017 to March 2019 for a grassland site, including ancillary weather and soil physics observations.
Use Cases
Model net ecosystem carbon dioxide exchange (NEE) dynamics using ancillary weather and soil physics observations from the peatland sites.
Analyze the relationship between sensible heat (H) and latent heat (LE) fluxes and atmospheric turbulence variables.
Compare carbon dioxide and energy flux patterns between the managed cropland and grassland environments over their respective multi-year time ranges.
Assess the quality of turbulent flux observations using the included quality flag variables.
Strengths
Multi-year temporal coverage with distinct collection periods for two different land uses.
Includes core eddy covariance fluxes (NEE, H, LE, momentum) plus supporting atmospheric and soil data.
Data from two distinct managed environments (horticultural cropland and grassland) on lowland peat soils.
Limitations
Specific row count, column count, and data granularity (e.g., half-hourly vs. hourly) are unknown from the input.
Geographic scope is limited to two specific sites in the East Anglian Fens, UK.
Temporal coverage differs between the two sites and ends in 2019, which may limit analysis of recent trends.

Environmental Information Data Centre
Collection Method
Micrometeorological eddy covariance (EC) technique for turbulent flux measurements.
