Description
A collection of FIB-SEM images, segmented 3D volumes, and centerline measurements from ovine brains, created for the EDEN2020 project. The dataset was produced by Andrea Bernardini at Imperial College London for studying white matter microstructure. It includes raw images, MIMICS project files, and MATLAB scripts for post-processing.
Use Cases
Analyze the microstructural composition of brain white matter based on the provided FIB-SEM images.
Perform 3D reconstruction and visualization of segmented axons based on the MIMICS project files.
Post-process and statistically analyze axon morphology based on the provided centerline measurements in text files.
Validate computational models of axonal cytoarchitecture based on the empirical image and reconstruction data.
Strengths
Includes processed, segmented, and 3D-reconstructed volumes ready for visualization in MIMICS software.
Provides raw FIB-SEM images, processed data files, and analysis scripts (MATLAB) in three independent, ready-to-use folders.
Data is sourced from scientific publications constituting main outputs of the EDEN2020 research project.
Limitations
Row count, file size, and specific file formats are unknown, which may limit suitability assessment.
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
Last update date is unknown; freshness unverified.
