Royal Penguin Behavioral and Physiological Responses to Human Approaches

ASAC project 1148 empirically measured effects of pedestrian activity on Royal penguin heart rate, egg temperature, and behavior across breeding stages. Data was captured on Hi-8 digital tape from Macquarie Island colonies, with transformation to tab-delimited text planned for 2003-2004. The project investigated single-person and group approaches in different environmental settings.
