TEMPO Survey: Euphausiid eDNA and Video Observations from the Southern Ocean, 2021

The East Antarctic sector of the Southern Ocean was surveyed during the 2021 TEMPO voyage from 29 January to 24 March 2021. The dataset comprises 110 environmental DNA (eDNA) samples and video footage collected from surface and near-seafloor depths to detect Southern Ocean krill species. Data were acquired during the Marine National Facility RV Investigator research voyage IN2021_V01.

Collection Method

Collected during the Marine National Facility RV Investigator research voyage IN2021_V01. eDNA samples were obtained by filtering seawater, followed by DNA extraction and metabarcoding. Video data were captured using a camera mounted on a CTD frame.
