E-Z Pass readers installed throughout New York City collect traffic speed data on local streets. The data is used by the City of New York to plan traffic calming measures and street reorganizations, such as the Midtown in Motion program. The dataset is updated as of March 22, 2026, and covers data from July 2024 onward, though some data from May to June 2025 may be unavailable.
