Holocene Estuary and Delta Facies Evolution Across Australia

Geoscience Australia Data mapped geomorphic features and sedimentary facies in 283 wave- and tide-dominated estuaries and deltas across Australia. The dataset was used to quantitatively evaluate established evolutionary facies models and reveal new insights about the transition from estuaries to deltas during stable sea level conditions. This study is described as the first published example of such geomorphic and sedimentary data assembled from a large number of systems across an entire continent.
