FRRF data collected on the RV L'Astrolabe from 04/11/2003 to 10/11/2003 on a trip from Dumont D'Urville to Hobart. The dataset contains continuous measurements of maximum photochemical efficiency of photosystem II (Fv/Fm) and related fluorescence yields, taken at 1-minute intervals from seawater at 3 m depth. It was aggregated by the Australian Ocean Data Network.
Use Cases
- Modeling phytoplankton health based on maximum quantum yield (Fv/Fm) measurements
- Analyzing primary production rates using fluorescence yields and chlorophyll concentration
- Studying phytoplankton response to environmental changes based on Fv/Fm's instant response to physical and chemical properties
Strengths
- Continuous measurements taken at 1-minute intervals
- Data collected over a specific voyage from 04/11/2003 to 10/11/2003
- Seawater sourced from a consistent 3 m depth via the ship's clean line
Limitations
- Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download
- Row count is unknown, which may limit suitability assessment
- Data may reflect geographic/temporal bias inherent to a single voyage
