Description
Socioeconomic and agricultural production data from three municipalities in Mato Grosso, Brazil, were collected from the IBGE Demographic Census (2010), Agricultural Census (2006), and other IBGE sources up to 2016. Márcia Leopoldina Montanari Corrêa developed composite indicators to assess food self-sufficiency, analyzing crops like cotton, rice, banana, coffee, sugarcane, citrus, beans, sunflower, corn, soybean, and tomato. The study highlights territorial inequities, food dependence, and increased pesticide use linked to the agribusiness model.
