Description
2020 to 2025 annual series of aggregated real estate median prices (€/m²) computed from the French open data source DVF (Demandes de Valeurs Foncières). The dataset covers 93 departments and approximately 35,000 communes of metropolitan France, with metrics for apartments, houses, and all property types. It is published by VALORIS, a French residential real estate valuation service.
Use Cases
Analyze national and local real estate price trends based on annual median €/m² series.
Compare price evolution between property types (apartment vs. house) based on the described metrics.
Model spatial housing market dynamics based on coverage of 93 departments and ~35,000 communes.
Assess market volatility based on year-over-year percentage change metrics.
Strengths
Covers a 6-year time series from 2020 to 2025.
Provides spatial granularity for 93 departments and approximately 35,000 communes.
Uses a robust median aggregation method with outlier removal (P5/P95) and a minimum transaction threshold.
Includes multiple property type categories (apartment, house, all).
Limitations
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
Excludes Alsace-Moselle departments (57, 67, 68) due to a different local property system.
Row count is unknown, which may limit suitability assessment.
