Description
14 elderly individuals with encephalic vascular accident (EVA) sequels were evaluated using the Functional Independence Measurement (FIM) instrument at the Sagrada Família Gerontologic Complex in Goiânia. The study assessed functional and cognitive capacity across six dimensions: self-care, sphincters control, transfers, locomotion, communication, and social cognition. Results show a motor control score of 43, a cognitive control score of 17, and a total FIM score of 60, with 57.1% of participants exhibiting modified dependence requiring up to 50% assistance.
