Description
Borhan Shokrollahi's dataset contains PLINK genotype files and phenotype data for genome-wide association analyses of five behavioral traits in horses: Friendliness, Gentleness, Patience, Sensitivity, and Aggressiveness. The phenotype files include deregressed estimated breeding values and reliability-derived weights used in weighted mixed-model GWAS analyses. The dataset was last updated on 2026-04-28 and is available under a CC-BY-4.0 license.
Use Cases
Conducting weighted mixed-model GWAS based on deregressed estimated breeding values and reliability weights.
Analyzing genetic associations for behavioral traits like Friendliness and Aggressiveness in horses.
Comparing genetic architectures across the five provided behavioral phenotypes.
Validating or replicating GWAS findings for equine behavior using the provided PLINK genotype format.
Strengths
Dataset is focused on five specific behavioral traits (Friendliness, Gentleness, Patience, Sensitivity, Aggressiveness).
Includes both genotype (PLINK format) and phenotype data (deregressed EBVs with weights) for GWAS.
Released under a permissive CC-BY-4.0 license, facilitating reuse.
Limitations
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
Row count is unknown, which may limit suitability assessment for certain analyses.
Data may reflect source or population bias inherent to the original study on figshare.
Provenance

Collection Method
Likely collected for genome-wide association analysis of behavioral traits in horses.
Freshness
Last updated 2026-04-28 06:53:46; freshness should be verified.
Data is packaged in a 1.5 MB ZIP file; users will need tools compatible with PLINK genotype files for analysis.
