Global Flood Mortality Risks and Distribution is a 2.5-minute resolution global grid estimating potential mortality from flood hazards. The dataset was produced by Columbia University's CHRR and CIESIN in collaboration with The World Bank, using mortality records from 1981 to 2000. It classifies mortality risk estimates into ten decile-based hazard classes.
Data is accessed via the NASA Earthdata platform; users must be familiar with geospatial grid formats. The primary output is a classified risk index, not raw mortality counts.
