Global Road Network Coverage Compiled from National Sources

Global road network coverage combines the best available roads data from each country into a unified dataset using the UN Spatial Data Infrastructure Transport (UNSDI-T) version 2 model. The baseline was compiled by the University of Georgia's ITOS, with updates for 33 regions by Columbia University's CIESIN. Representations range from the 1980s to 2010, with most countries lacking a confirmed date.
