Description
The Great Observatories Origins Deep Survey (GOODS) unites deep observations from NASA's Spitzer, Hubble, and Chandra, ESA's Herschel and XMM-Newton, and ground-based facilities. This catalog lists sources from MIPS 24 micron imaging of the GOODS-S field, limited to flux densities greater than 80 microJy for high completeness and reliability. The data is provided by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration and was last updated in March 2026.
Use Cases
Identify and catalog infrared sources based on MIPS 24 micron imaging.
Study galaxy spectral energy distributions based on multi-wavelength survey data.
Analyze source completeness and reliability based on the 80 microJy flux density threshold.
Conduct statistical analyses of source populations in the GOODS-S field.
Strengths
Source extraction is described as highly complete and reliable above the 80 microJy flux density threshold.
Data originates from the multi-agency GOODS survey, which combines observations from major space and ground-based observatories.
Limitations
Column-level documentation is absent; field semantics must be inferred after download.
Row count and dataset size are unknown, which may limit suitability assessment.
