Oceanographic and meteorological data were collected by the Saildrone 1021 unmanned surface vehicle during a near-real-time mission in the North Atlantic Ocean. NOAA NCEI archives the dataset, which captures a 28-day period from January 30 to February 26, 2019. The mission aimed to repeatedly sample cross-current gradients in the Gulf Stream before ending prematurely due to storm damage.
Data is reported with limited initial quality control. The mission ended prematurely due to damage sustained in significant wave heights exceeding 12 meters.
